Consular registration is an administrative formality for Nigeriens residing abroad. It is a prerequisite for consular protection and the various services provided by the Embassy.
Consular registration aims at knowing and locating the Nigerien community, building up a solid database on that community, facilitating the exercise of consular protection, enabling voter registration and receiving information from the Embassy. The consular registration application must include a photocopy of the Nigerien identification document (Niger national identity card or passport), One (01) recent identity photograph of the applicant.
The consular registration is embodied by a consular card valid for three years. After the registration, any change of situation (civil status, address, profession etc.) must be reported to the embassy In the event of a permanent return to Niger, all registered persons must request their cancellation from the registration data bank. The issuance of the consular registration card is subject to the collection of chancery fees of $ 10.
